Ethel Emily Edsell
nee Dickason born 1895 in Colac, Victoria , my nanna standing at
the rear of the picture , she loathed spiders.
When I was staying with her ,she screamed " Anne ! Anne ! a spider
! quick bring the fly spray !! agghhhhhhh!! I came running in thinking
it was huge monster of a thing.
Nanna used up all her fly spray on a tinsy spider in her wardrobe,
we laughed ,cried and laughed.
I enjoyed staying with my grandparents. |

Silas Gordon Edsell,
my pop, he had an accident involving a tram when he was 8 years
old , but that didn't stop him getting around on one leg.
Pop was a shoe maker, had a shop in Heidelberg, he could turn
shoes inside out with his bare hands .Whenever mum bought us new
shoes pop would like to inspect them. I remember one late afternoon
pop and I stood at the sink in his Heidelberg home, he showed
me how to make his delicious chop casserole with lashings of vegetables,
he told me never to forget the flour and butter, whenever I make
it today I think of us laughing together. He died when I was 11.
I'm still working on the restoration of this photo.
